Trader Joe's Settlement Eligibility: How to Claim Part of $7.4M Settlement Payout
Summary
Trader Joe's has agreed to a $7.4 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging violations of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA). The lawsuit claimed that, in 2019, Trader Joe’s receipts displayed more credit and debit card information than legally permitted – specifically, the first six and last four digits of card numbers, instead of just the last five.
Shoppers who made purchases at Trader Joe’s between March 5, 2019, and July 19, 2019, using a credit or debit card and received a qualifying receipt may be eligible for a payout, currently estimated at approximately $102.45 per person after deductions for fees and expenses. Identity theft is not a requirement to file a claim.
Eligible customers must submit a claim by June 9, 2026, either online or by mail. The final payout amount will be prorated based on the number of valid claims received and final court approval.
