EPFO says PF claim settlement may take longer

Hyderabad Mail
EPFO's software upgrade will delay PF claim settlements by at least two weeks.

Summary

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced that its transition to a new claims‑processing system will push the settlement of PF claims, including partial withdrawals, back by at least two weeks. The upgrade, which involved taking servers offline from 26 June to enhance automation and digital infrastructure, has already caused delays in the launch of the new member and employer portals, originally slated for 1 July. While the portals are now back online, work on the passbook service continues and temporary interruptions are expected; EPFO advises subscribers to avoid frequent peak‑hour logins. The refreshed member portal offers added features such as full service history, claim status tracking, online surrender of scheme certificates, and the ability to cancel applications immediately, and the UAN card now displays the member’s photo.
