Saatva.com sales tax class action lawsuit settlement (Missouri)
Summary
Saatva has reached a settlement in a class action lawsuit concerning sales tax overcharges to Missouri customers who purchased items online between June 21, 2018, and June 18, 2024. The lawsuit claimed that Saatva charged some customers a sales tax rate higher than the vendor’s use tax rate when shipping products from out-of-state to Missouri addresses. While Saatva has not admitted wrongdoing, they have agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to affected customers. Eligible class members—Missouri residents who made qualifying purchases during the specified period—will automatically receive a cash payment based on the amount of overcharged tax, with payments adjusted proportionally based on the total settlement fund and number of claimants. Any remaining funds will be donated to The OneSight Foundation. The deadline for exclusion or objection is November 3, 2025, and the final approval hearing is scheduled for December 11, 2025. No claim form is required to receive a payment.
