Class action claims Titleist Pro V1x golf balls are falsely advertised as having ‘enhanced alignment’
Summary
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Acushnet Co., the maker of Titleist golf balls, alleging false advertising regarding its Pro V1x (Left Dash) golf balls with “Enhanced Alignment.” Consumers claim that advertised boxes containing 12 balls actually contained only nine of the desired 'Left Dash' balls, supplemented with three unwanted 2023 Pro V1x balls. The lawsuit asserts that Acushnet intentionally mixed the boxes to stretch inventory and sell lower-demand balls, effectively misleading customers.
The plaintiffs argue that Acushnet was aware of this practice and continued to market the boxes as containing a dozen of the 'Enhanced Alignment' balls. They are seeking declaratory and injunctive relief, as well as compensatory and punitive damages, on behalf of a nationwide class of consumers who purchased these misrepresented boxes.
The lawsuit alleges several causes of action, including fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of warranty, and violations of state consumer protection laws. Acushnet allegedly aimed to reduce its stock of the soon-to-be outdated 2023 Pro V1x EA golf balls before the release of the 2025 version.
