Google class action notice issued in lawsuit over discontinued free G Suite legacy accounts
Summary
A class action lawsuit, *Rabin v. Google LLC*, has been filed against Google alleging the company improperly ended free access to legacy Google Apps accounts despite prior assurances of continued free access. The lawsuit applies to individuals and entities in the United States who signed up for the free version of Google Apps between August 1, 2006, and December 6, 2012, remained customers as of January 19, 2022, and had active users during the 180 days prior. Google maintains it did not breach any agreements. Currently, no settlement has been reached, and the deadline to opt out of the litigation is January 5, 2026. Potential benefits and claim filing instructions will be provided if a settlement is reached. Interested parties are encouraged to sign up for a newsletter for updates.
