Husqvarna grass trimmer class action settlement

Class Action Lawsuits
A class action settlement has been reached regarding Husqvarna gas-powered grass trimmers due to a potential fire hazard.

Summary

Husqvarna has agreed to an undisclosed settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging that certain gas-powered grass string trimmers (models 130C, 130L, and 330LK purchased before November 13, 2023) were defective and posed a fire hazard due to a potential electrical spark. The lawsuit claimed the defect could cause a fire if gas was present. Eligible consumers can receive a $45 voucher and a product warranty extension by submitting a claim form by January 2, 2026, after participating in a Consumer Product Safety Commission recall for a free repair at an authorized Husqvarna dealer. The warranty extension includes a one-year extension for repair/replacement of the ignition module and a three-year extension for parts and labor on the ignition module if the repair/replacement is completed within one year of October 3, 2025. The final approval hearing is scheduled for February 2, 2026.
