Payments in AT&T settlement could total $7,500. Here's how to claim
Summary
AT&T has agreed to a $177 million settlement following a class action lawsuit regarding multiple customer data breaches that occurred in March and July 2024. Two classes of customers are eligible for payment: those affected by the March breach (AT&T 1 Settlement Class) and those affected by the July breach (AT&T 2 Settlement Class). Eligible customers can receive payments up to $7,500, depending on the type of data compromised and any documented financial losses. The data breaches involved sensitive information such as addresses, social security numbers, birthdates, and call data.
To file a claim, customers can submit documentation online at www.telecomdatasettlement.com or by mail. The deadline to submit claims is December 18th. Those eligible for both settlement classes must file separate claims with unique documentation for each. Payments will be distributed after final court approval, which is currently scheduled for January 15, 2026.
AT&T 1 Settlement Class members can receive up to $5,000 through documented loss payments or tiered cash payments (Tier 1 for those whose Social Security numbers were compromised, and Tier 2 for others). AT&T 2 Settlement Class members can receive up to $2,500 through similar documented loss and tiered payment options. The exact amount each customer receives will depend on the total number of claims filed.
