Over 85 Per Cent IndiGo Fliers Surveyed Want Airline's Service Deficiency Under Class Action Of CP Act
Summary
A recent survey by LocalCircles found that 87% of IndiGo passengers believe the airline’s service deficiencies should be addressed via a class action lawsuit under the Consumer Protection Act 2019. This demand follows widespread flight cancellations and delays that left thousands stranded and raised concerns about refund integrity, cancellation policies, and adequate compensation. Passengers reported issues such as deductions from refunds, delays in receiving refunds, and itineraries being changed without their consent. The survey, which received over 30,000 responses from consumers across India, specifically asked whether the Consumer Complaints Protection Authority (CCPA) should intervene. The overwhelming majority responded affirmatively, seeking action against IndiGo for its service failures. Many passengers reported receiving refunds less than the amount they paid, despite assurances of a “100 per cent refund”.
