The Mirror Us
Amazon Prime customers eligible for a $2.5 million settlement over unlawful subscription practices should soon receive an email regarding their $51 refund.

Summary

Millions of Amazon customers who were unlawfully enrolled in Prime subscriptions are set to receive a refund as part of a $2.5 million settlement with the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC found that individuals were signed up for Prime without their consent, and Amazon is required to implement changes to its signup and cancellation processes, including a clear option to decline Prime. Automatic payments began on November 12, 2025, and continued through December 24, 2025. Those who believe they deserve compensation can file a claim at www.subscriptionmembershipsettlement.com. Eligible customers will receive an email on January 23, 2026, with options to accept the refund via PayPal or Venmo, or receive a check. To qualify, customers must have been Prime members in the U.S. who signed up between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, and used no more than three Prime benefits in any 12-month period. Qualifying customers will receive up to $51 per person.
