Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh has instructed the implementation of a new ‘One Time Settlement’ scheme (OTS-2026) to expedite the resolution of long-pending residential and commercial allotment cases. He emphasized that these unresolved cases hinder development and cause hardship to citizens, stating the government’s goal is a “fast, transparent and practical” resolution system. The scheme aims to balance revenue collection for the Housing Department with relief for allottees, offering clear options for genuine applicants.
During a meeting of the Housing and Urban Planning Department, officials reported success with a previous OTS-2020 scheme, but noted that many allottees were unable to complete final payments due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The new scheme will offer concessions for lump-sum payments and installment options, ensuring it provides relief to the common man. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of timely application processing and wide publicity of the scheme.
Adityanath directed the department to make the entire process online, transparent, and user-friendly, ensuring maximum awareness and accessibility for eligible citizens. He believes the implementation of OTS-2026 will benefit thousands of allottees and generate revenue for the state.
