Epstein Estate Agrees to $35M Class Action Settlement

Newsmax
Jeffrey Epstein's estate will pay up to $35 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging his advisors aided his sex trafficking.

Summary

Jeffrey Epstein’s estate has reached a potential $35 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit accusing his former lawyer, Darren Indyke, and accountant, Richard Kahn, of facilitating his sex trafficking crimes. The lawsuit alleged that Indyke and Kahn helped Epstein conceal his abuses through a network of corporations and bank accounts, enabling payments to victims and recruiters. While the settlement provides a confidential financial avenue for victims who haven’t already received compensation, Indyke and Kahn have not admitted any wrongdoing. Their lawyer, Daniel H. Weiner, stated they agreed to mediate and settle to achieve finality for potential claims against the estate.

This settlement adds to previous payouts from Epstein’s estate, which has already distributed $121 million through a restitution fund and an additional $49 million in settlements.

Boies Schiller Flexner, the law firm representing the victims, has also secured settlements with JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank, totaling $365 million, for allegedly overlooking red flags related to Epstein’s activities.
