Android users can get up to $100 each from this class action suit - see if you're eligible

ZDNet
Android users who used cellular data between 2017 and the settlement's approval may be eligible for up to $100 from a class action suit against Google.

Summary

A class action lawsuit, Taylor et al. v. Google LLC, alleges that Google's Android phones transmitted user data without permission, even when apps were closed and phones weren't actively in use, potentially using users' paid cellular data. Google has agreed to a $135 million settlement to avoid court proceedings, unrelated to a separate $700 million Google Play lawsuit. Individuals who used an Android phone with a cellular connection between November 12, 2017, and the settlement's final approval are eligible to file a claim at www.federalcellularclassaction.com, using a notice ID and confirmation code. While the settlement fund covers approximately 100 million users, payouts could reach up to $100 per person, depending on participation rates, after deductions for administration costs, taxes, and attorney fees. Final approval is expected by June 23, 2026, and those eligible who do not select a payment method will still receive attempts at payment, provided accurate information is on file.
