Dwayne Johnson's energy drink brand agrees to $3M settlement. Who qualifies?
Summary
ZOA Energy, the energy drink brand co-owned by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has agreed to a $3 million class action settlement due to accusations of misleading marketing. The lawsuit, filed on October 23, 2023, alleged that ZOA Energy drinks contained chemical preservatives – specifically citric acid and ascorbic acid – despite being advertised as preservative-free. ZOA Energy denies the allegations but agreed to settle without admitting wrongdoing.
Customers who purchased ZOA Energy drinks labeled “0 Preservatives” between March 1, 2021, and November 21, 2025, are eligible for compensation. Those with proof of purchase can receive $1 per drink, up to $150 per household, while those without proof can receive $1 per drink, up to $10 per household. The claim submission deadline is February 20, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for March 26, 2026. Consumers who do not sign up for the settlement will forfeit their right to sue ZOA Energy, while those who opt out retain the right to sue but will not receive funds from the settlement.
