Bad Bunny Hit With $16M Lawsuit Over Vocal Features on ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’ and ‘X 100pre’

Billboard
Bad Bunny is facing a $16 million lawsuit from a woman claiming her voice was sampled on two songs without her permission.

Summary

Bad Bunny is being sued for $16 million by Tainaly Serrano Rivera, who alleges her voice was used without consent on his songs “Solo de Mi” and “EoO.” Rivera claims she recorded the phrase “Mira, puñeta, no me quiten el perreo” at the request of Bad Bunny’s producer, La Paciencia, in 2018, believing it wouldn't be commercially exploited. The lawsuit states no compensation, contract, or license was ever discussed or granted. Rivera is seeking damages for violations of Puerto Rico’s right of publicity statute from Bad Bunny (Benito Martínez Ocasio), La Paciencia (Roberto Rosado), and Rimas Entertainment, citing use of her voice in both song releases and during his San Juan residency performances. This is not the first time Bad Bunny has faced similar legal action, as he was previously sued in 2023 for allegedly using his ex-girlfriend’s voice without consent.
